Working with Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan is like winning trophies

Shahrukh Khan And Aamir Khan
Working with Bollywood stars is like winning a trophy, says newcomer Ali Fazal and adds that a role with the likes of Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan is what newcomers crave for.
And he was lucky to get the opportunity – after playing a small role of Joy Lobo in Aamir Khan starrer “3 Idiots”, he is doing a pivotal role in SRK’s home production “Always Kabhi Kabhi”.
“To me, Aamir, Shar Rukh, Salman Khan are like trophies at the end of the race. We all are running to reach to them,” Ali, who doesn’t like comparing the two superstars, told IANS.
“It’s wrong to compare. I worked with them in different scenarios. Aamir Khan was in the film I was doing and Shah Rukh Khan is the producer of my film. As a producer, he played a brilliant role. He’s a thorough gentleman,” said the actor who shakes a leg with SRK in a song in “Always Kabhi Kabhi”.
“The little time we shot with him, we found him very professional. He made us feel like buddies. It takes three days to finish one song, he just took one day. He learnt the dance steps in one hour and he was ready,” he added.
“Always Kabhi Kabhi” happened before “3 Idiots” released, says Ali.
“I signed this movie before ’3 Idiots’ was released. When I started working in this movie ’3 Idiots’ was in it post-production,” said the actor, who is an engineering student and says playing a school boy was tough.
“For me, playing an older character is easier than playing a younger one. It’s very hard because there is a very thin line between the age group of 18, 20 or 23-year-old.
“You have seen Joy Lobo and if you see Sam, the character I play here, he is a very fun loving boy. But again he is a schoolboy and in tense moments it’s a very different how an 18-year-old would react or cry. You will see the difference from what I did in ’3 Idiots’. It was definitely tough.”
Apart from Ali, “Always Kabhi Kabhi” will launch two new faces – Zoa Morani and Satyajeet Dubey. This is television host and radio jockey Roshan Abbas’s directorial debut. “Love Aaj Kal” fame Giselle Monteiro also stars in it.
Set in a school, “Always Kabhi Kabhi” is about four youngsters trying to compete with pressure of growing up and many firsts that everyone experiences in high school.
Playing a lead role was much of a responsibility for Ali who discovered his acting talent during school days. He was a basketball player but after an accident, he shifted to theatre.
“When I started doing plays, I found a new side of me. Then I started exploring more about it. Every time I would do it, something new would come out. I did this role,” said the Doon School alumnus.
Ali feels that for any film, script is important. “Half of the job is done when you have a good story. Follow your punctuation marks and half of your acting is done.”

2 idiots 200x150
Mumbai, After targeting Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for his remarks supporting the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL, the Shiv Sena Saturday dragged in Aamir Khan, calling the duo “2 Idiots”.
“In real life, Aamir and Shah Rukh have been proved as ’2 Idiots’ as both are making stupid statements supporting the cause of Pakistani cricketers,” said a statement in the party’s Hindi mouthpiece Dopahar Ka Saamna.
“On the one hand, while SRK is openly displaying his love for Pakistani players, Aamir has even put nationalistic sentiments in his utterances on this issue,” said the statement in the tabloid, which hit the stands this afternoon.
“According to Aamir, if any cricketer is good, he would like to have him in his team, it makes no difference to him which country he belongs to,” said the statement.
The statement is accompanied by a digitally altered picture of the recent record blockbuster “3 Idiots”. It shows the head of Aamir (the star and promoter of the movie) popping out of a drum and SRK sticking his tongue from another drum – signifying the accompanying heading of “2 Idiots”.
Aamir had said Friday that if he were to select IPL players he would do so only on the basis of their performance and not nationality.
The Shiv Sena Friday hit out at Shah Rukh, who is also the Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner, after he said he would have picked a Pakistani player for IPL matches if his team had a slot.
Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said if the actor was so keen on them, “he could go play his matches in Lahore, not in India”.
Thane Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde announced that no film of Shah Rukh would be screened in the district.
Both actors have not reacted to the Shiv Sena’s tirade.

BollywoodWorld.com, Superstar Shahrukh Khan, who has transcended geographical boundaries and won hearts of millions with his charismatic screen presence, says he doesn’t consider himself a star.
“The reason I say I am not a star is because I am completely human. I still cry, I still laugh, I crack jokes, I get stressed, I feel disturbed but I think you people love me so much because I could be human,” he told reporters Wednesday at the music launch of his latest production “Always Kabhi Kabhi”, releasing June 17.
“Even though I have this pedestal where I stand which says I am a big star but actually I am nobody till I work hard to make you smile,” added the 45-year-old.
To give a Midas touch to the film, Shah Rukh has appeared in a promotional song of the film “Always Kabhi Kabhi”.
“It’s not an item number. It’s the beginning of the film. The music and the lyrics of course make it a peppy number,” he clarified.
This directorial debut of Roshan Abbas is also launching two new faces – Zoa Morani and Satyajeet Dubey. Actor Giselle Montario of “Love Aaj Kal” fame and Ali Fazal who did a small role in Aamir Khan-starrer “3 Idiots” play lead roles in the film.
Set in a school, “Always Kabhi Kabhi” is about four unique youngsters trying to compete with pressure of growing up and many firsts that everyone experiences in high school.
As today’s school life has changed a lot, King Khan could hardly identify with any except the determination of the youths to accomplish their goal.
“The youth part of the film is the same as it was in my time, but the way they deal with their life has changed. There are many things in the film that I have not done in my school life. So there are many things I couldn’t identify with,” said Shah Rukh.
“Life has changed so much. But the thing that the film says, follow your dream, I could easily identify with. I never thought that I would come to Mumbai and do so much of work but yes I always aspired to be an actor or a sportsman. The film also shows that we should do something that I am willing to do instead of choosing the way where I can lead an easy life,” he added.

Will ‘Tees Maar Khan’ break ‘Dabangg’ record?

Tees Maar Khan 200x148
After a record breaking Friday, a few cynics felt that ‘Dabangg’ would fall on Saturday and Sunday. When that didn’t happen, all eyes were on to see how the weekdays would perform. Those in favour of a film bringing happiness to the industry cheered for ‘Dabangg’ but some prayed silently for this Salman Khan starrer to go downhill after the initial euphoria settled down. As it turned out, ‘Dabangg’ continued to be super strong on week days as well and in the process went on to not just continue to entice audience but also create a record.
A total of 81 crores meant that the first week count (including the Thursday previews) of ’3 Idiots’ i.e. 80 crores, was left behind by a close margin. While this has been a huge total by itself, what makes it further remarkable is the fact that a major contribution has been made by single screens theaters here which is Salman’s target audience. While ’3 Idiots’ was made for multiplex audience and ticket rates were also jacked up, this was not the case with ‘Dabangg’. This further translates into the fact that viewer-ship of ‘Dabangg’ has been considerably higher than ’3 Idiots’, hence putting a stamp on Salman’s super-stardom.
In fact, I remember that after the release of ’3 Idiots’, I had asked a question in this very column – ‘Is there any competition for Aamir Khan? Can only Aamir beat Aamir at not just the box office but also where quality of cinema is concerned?’ Well, as is obvious now, anything is possible. Though ’3 Idiots’ looked unbeatable once, the unthinkable has happened within a year. The only movie in near future that seems most likely to cover a greater distance is ‘Tees Maar Khan’. Will it manage to top 80 crores in the very first week? Let’s wait and watch.
As for ‘Dabangg’ topping ’3 Idiots’ when it comes to the lifetime total of 200 crores plus, it is not happening by any means. While ’3 Idiots’ had crossed 50 crores in its second week, ‘Dabangg’ would be settling at around 30-35 crores crores since the repeat audience would now mainly come from single screens. Still, ‘Dabangg’ is all set to be the second highest grosser ever by eclipsing the 115 crores lifetime total of ‘Ghajini’

Salman Khan Plans His Third Consecutive Eid Release Next Year

salman khan eid release 200x283
Bollywood star Salman Khan rocked the audience during this Eid with his latest release Dabangg. The movie broke the highest record of Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots with its first day earnings. Last year also, Salman’s movie Wanted was released during Eid and it turned out to be a blockbuster.
It seems that the holy festival of Eid has become a lucky day for the actor and that’s why Salman wants to continue this trend by releasing his next movie My Love Story during Eid next year. The film also stars actor Atul Agnihotri and the actor is also in favor of this idea of Eid release.
Both the films, Wanted and Dabangg, presented Salman Khan in his action avatar, which was missing for quite some time. Audience loved him, clapped for him, whistled for him and the Box Office record was made for him.
However, Atul Agnihotri, who also happens to be his brother- in-law, has not yet started shooting for My Love Story, which is a remake of the Malayalam movie Bodyguard starring Nayantara and Dileep in the lead roles.
The plot of the Malayalam movie suggests that My Love Story will also have a bit of action in it. So, who knows… Salman may get third time lucky with this!

“Dabangg 2″, the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster “Dabangg”, will release in December 2012, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan revealed Monday.
“‘Dabangg 2′ starts March 2012 and releases on 21 Dec 2012!!!” Arbaaz, who turned producer with the first instalment last year, posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Arbaaz had last month confirmed that the first draft of the script was ready. They were just waiting for actor Salman Khan’s dates.
Perhaps the schedule dates have been locked now for the film, which will once again see Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood.
Hopes are high from the sequel to “Dabangg”, which had earned Rs.145 crore.
Arbaaz, whose wife Malaika had grooved to the chartbuster “Munni badnaam hui” in the film, had admitted earlier that he was nervous about the sequel.
“There is a little nervousness for sure as the expectations are high but we would definitely be presenting something good and interesting,” he had said.
