‘Ghayal’ sequel will be better than original – Dharmendra
\ Veteran actor Dharmendra is confident that the sequel to the 1990-hit “Ghayal”, which starred his elder son Sonny Deol, will be better than the original.
“‘Ghayal 2′ is going to be the most emotional film. It will definitely be even more better. We are working very hard on it. We are still deciding on the cast of the film but Om Puri and Sunny are there for sure. I’m confident this film will be very good,” said Dharmendra.
The Deol family is all set to revive their banner Vijeta Films with the sequel, and the 75-year-old Dharmendra says he is confident about Sunny’s work.
“Sunny is a wonderful actor,” he said.

Still waiting for right script after ’3 Idiots’ – Sharman Joshi
New Delhi, After the super success of “3 Idiots” last year, Sharman Joshi says he is still waiting for a script that he would love to work on. The boyish-looking actor also hopes that filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra would approach him for his next “Ferrari Ki Sawari”.
“Post-’3 Idiots’ I haven’t signed on anything,” said Sharman. “I am reading scripts and I’m yet to sign and seal a deal for any particular film. I’m not finding the one that I would love to work on,” Sharman told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.
The actor was, however, seen in Tabu- starrer “Toh Baat Pakki” after “3 Idiots”.
” ‘Toh Baat Pakki’ was something that I had signed before ’3 Idiots’,” he clarified.
So, does he have any particular scripts in mind or solo leads, as he has mostly been a regular at multi-starrers like “Rang De Basanti”, “Dhol”, “Golmaal” and “Hello”?
“I’m looking for all kinds of roles and genres. There are no set rules for me… I am open to anything and everything as long as I’m keen on doing it,” said Sharman, 31, who is father of three children but looks no bigger than a college boy.
“And if a script demands it to be a multi-starrer and I like it, then I’m going to be a part of it. Just because it’s a solo hero outing, I don’t want to be a part of a mediocre film. At the end of the day I have to be proud of that film,” he added.
Asked if “3 Idiots” had set a benchmark for the actor, Sharman said: “I am glad that has happened. I’m someone who gives his best if only pushed against the wall. So I’m happy that ’3 Idiots’ has set such a high benchmark for all of us including Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan… and everyone will try to surpass that.”
“I am hoping I also manage to do that. ’3 Idiots’ has been unique and special and something that will forever remain. Even if I’m part of a film which is more successful, ’3 Idiots’ will always hold that special place and I’m hoping to cherish it for the rest of my life,” he added.
But any regrets for the wait until the next project?
“I don’t think there’s any right time or good time (for a movie). It’s all about a right script or a bad script. I’d rather go with the right script in my mind and go with my conviction,” said the actor.
“3 Idiots”, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, made more than Rs.400 crore at the box office. It also starred Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan and Boman Irani.
Rumours were rife that Chopra is contemplating his next “Ferrari Ki Safari” with Sharman in the lead, after Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir declined the offer. And the actor hopes the speculation comes true.
“I hope I’m being contemplated for the role and I hope I am a part of it. I have had no formal meetings with Vidhu Vinod Chopra on this. I hope if it happens, I know about it,” he said.
As of now, Sharman is excited about the Best Supporting Actor nomination he’s got for “3 Idiots” at the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) meet, which will be held June 3-5 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
“3 Idiots” has bagged the maximum number of 14 nominations.
Sharman’s long-awaited “Allah Ke Banday” is also slated to release this year.
