Trisha Krishnan

Biography
Trisha Krishnan was born on 4th may 1983 to parents Krishnan and Uma Krishnan in Kerala. She is the only child to her parents and lives with her parents and grandmother. She did her schooling from Church park high school, the same school which was attended by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalitha. She was a fun loving child and always remained active with various cultural activities, dance, sports, and school band during her school days, and she is a good ballet dancer. She later joined Ethiraj College, Chennai for her degree course.

Trisha was chosen Miss Salem in 1999 and later Miss Chennai in 2000, and Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile in 2001. Her career started as a model and she appeared in many TV advertisements including that of Fair and Lovely and Josco Jeweller, and was also starred in Falguni Pathak's music album Meri Chunar Ud Ud Jaye.

Career in Movies

Trisha made her debut in films with a cameo in the film Jodi, but she was later appeared with the lead role in Priyadarshan's Leysa Leysa, which failed to make big at bopx office, then followed flop movies like Mansellam, Alai, however role opposite to famous actor Surya in Mounam Pesiyadhe was a big hit and won critical acclaim for her role where she was appreciated for facial expressions while acting.

Mounam Pesiyadhewas followed by another blockbuster hit Saamy, in which she played the role of Vikram’s love interest. She then assigned for another huge project Ghilli, a remake of Telugu blockbuster Okkadu opposite Vijay.

She made her debut in Telugu cinema through Varsham (2004), which went on to become a biggest hit of the year, and her career hit the sky overnight. She was then seen alongside Siddharth Narayan in Telugu flick Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana directed by Prabhu Deva acting as a village girl Siri, this movie hit the box office and she even won two awards for the film - Filmfare Award and Nandi Award.

Her next movie was Mani Ratnam's Aayitha Ezhuthu which was later remade into a hit Hindi film Yuva. Her success is again followed by some flops like Ji, Aathi and Aaru, however Aaru received well by critics and later dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and produced by Saran. Her next role in 2006 was Prabhu Deva directed Pournami, which went flop but her another movie Something Something ... Unnakum Ennakum opposite Jayam Ravi was a hit at box office. Her Telugu movie Stalin with Chiranjeevi was a huge hit at box office and gathered recorded amount of 32 Crores in three weeks from over the world. Trisha made another successful venture with Mahesh Babu in Sainikudu, it received bad reviews earlier but high budget film get an incredible start both in India and overseas.

In 2007, she was seen in Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule opposite Venkatesh, followed by other bang like Aata and Munna. She did a comedy role in kiteedam opposite Ajith and gathered rave reviews from both critics and audiences. Another successful movie was V.V. Vinayak directed Krishna (2008) with Ravi Teja.

She has many upcoming projects including four Tamil films like Bheema with Vikram, Radhamohan directed Abhiyum Naanum, Vijay-Dharani project Kuruvi, and a Gautam Menon film. Her upcoming Telugu project is Puri Jagannadh directed Bujjigadu with Prabhas.

Some of her new endorsements are Fanta, replacing Rani Mukherjee, Scooty Pep+ and Perk replacing Priety Zinta.
