 Tanushree Dutta On Her Parents
Oct 1, 2008
Tanushree Dutta reveals how her father helped her fight back for the Miss India crown while mom helped her score well academically. As a child my mom used to reward me with new Barbie dolls in lieu of good grades in class. I was always a rebellious child, my mother would not allow me to go out unless others were going, but my father would support me and say that I was special and Icould have my way. I owe my academic achievements to my mother and her "strictness" about studies. But my co-curricular achievements are courtesy father dear. His lenient attitude helped me develop into a confident individual by participating in camps, sports, music, etc. When I didn't get through Femina Miss India 2003 and I was really upset, but dad consoled me saying that I was a born fighter and that I would surmount all odds. I went back the next year with a renewed resolve and won the crown. I have seen my mother as a dutiful wife, a doting mother and a great homemaker. Patience is her biggest virtue, and it is one that I have inherited from her. Both my parents are strong individuals who have protected me from wrong influences and stood by me through my moments of trial. When I gave up studies to get into modelling, I received flak from a few people, but my parents backed me and told me to go ahead. My parents are also my biggest critics and I value their opinion immensely. Their praise means everything to me. I am a cleanliness freak because of my mom and an avid cook thanks to my dad. Both my parents are highly educated and since childhood they have inculcated the habit of acquiring knowledge about the world and life in general. As a result, I am a well-read person with a large perspective towards life. My parents have imbibed two virtues in life: forgiveness and giving unconditional love. These virtues help me to have a stable personal life.

Tanushree Dutta wants to look more sexy with age

"It is true that for glamorous roles, any young girl has only five or maximum of 10 years in Bollywood and after that she lands up being a sidekick. There is no denying the fact that while choosing roles today, this is one of the major concerns for actresses like us. I am not very keen on doing a role of a mother or any one in the age group of 40 or 50 because I have enough time to play such characters. But, once I complete 10 years in the industry, I will not get sexy roles, which I can get now. So, for getting roles today if I have to bare a little I will not mind it at all," confesses Chocolate babe Tanushree Dutta. With Dutta, who kicked off her career with flesh flicks with Aashiq Banaya Apne and Chocolate, being quite okay about baring skin, glam doll Celina Jaitley also finds resonance for her woes as she agrees with Tanushree. She says, "I want to make hay till the sun shines. I have made it clear that I have age by my side for another six to eight years and I have no problem in doing hot and steamy roles. Among the controversies and discussions on 'morality behind exposures', I don't want to lose my present golden period. I am young, beautiful, glamorous, hot and sexy. So, where is the harm in exposing my delicious curves? I have enough time to portray profound characters." Looks like there's no stopping for the age defying sultry sirens. "I have worked in several intense roles but I want to do glamorous and romantic masala films too. Right now, I am in a position to carry off steamy scenes but may not be so later on," says Raima Sen.

Tanushree Dutta lashes out at director Urvashi

Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta, who has been in the news for her ugly spat with director Shona Urvashi while shooting Saas, Bahu, Sensex in Pune, refuses to forget "the experience". "I've taken enough rubbish from them all because my producers Warner Brothers are really cool. But Shona Urvashi has been a nightmare. I wouldn't even want to go there again. But she has been calling up the media, telling them I'm on drugs and that I am another Parveen Babi. "Another Parveen? This is my 13th film. Please check with my directors and producers if I've ever been erratic in my behaviour. I think these people need to check their own mental balance," she said. Tanushree goes back to the beginning of her stint in Pune. "I signed this film without knowing what I was in for. At first, things seemed okay. Shona was the producer and her sister Masume was also part of the cast [though it's another matter that there seems to be tension between the sisters]. I've the main role. Their mother is the producer and father looks after the production. So it was a family affair. "I was the outsider. I kept my distance. But maybe they didn't like the fact that I didn't party with them after work. But if I've an early morning shoot, I'd rather sleep and be fresh," Tanushree said. Whatever the reason for their rancour, hell broke loose on February 14. "Shona harassed me continuously throughout the day. She'd pick on me for no reason. At first I laughed it off, thinking they were making a fool of me. But then I realised they were serious. I was made to say the same line for hours on end. I wasn't allowed to go back to my van between shots. "For 15 hours non-stop, they made me shoot, taunting, jeering and harassing me. The lights and air-conditioning in my van were switched off. It was a nightmare. They couldn't wait to have me back on the sets the next morning for a dose of the same treatment," the actress recalled. Tanushree left Pune and refused to go back till the producers accompanied her. "I reluctantly went back and shot on February 19 and 20. But it was bad. The producers saw how bad it was and blasted the team wondering how an actress could work under such stressful circumstances. Shona insisted that she needed me for 10-12 days. The producers decided four days were enough. I went on the sets at the given time, tried to do my work and left." Now there're just four days of work left and Tanushree wonders how she will go through it. "It's a fantastic script but it was the worst experience of my career. Now I wonder if they were doing it all for publicity. Shona has directed one film before and maybe she needed to get noticed. But this is not the way to go about it."

Tanushree dutta accuses Nana Patekar of touching her Body

Mumbai, Thrusday, March 30, 2008 (BSNS) The Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has taken strong exception to allegations of "indecent behaviour" levelled against Bollywood actor Nana Patekar by upcoming star Tanushree Datta. The MNS has written letters to different associations of cine producers to 'blacklist' Tanushree for accusing a senior actor like Nana of bad behaviour during the shooting of an item number for the movie Horn OK Pleassse on Wednesday. The organisation, which was recently in the news for its violence against the north Indians living in Mumbai, has threatened to agitate against the actress if she does not give an unconditional apology to the actor, whom it describes as the "pride of Maharashtra". Meanwhile, producer of Horn OK Pleassse, Sami Siddiqui, filed a complaint Saturday with the Association of Motion Picture and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) against Tanushree. He alleged that his production firm, Sunshine Pictures Pvt. Ltd, incurred a heavy loss because the actress failed to complete shooting for the item song being filmed on her and Nana. In his complaint, Siddiqui also stated that the goodwill of his production firm was tarnished because Tanushree went to the media saying that she was "coerced" by director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya to do steps in the item song she did not feel comfortable doing. Acting quickly on the complaint, the AMPTPP dashed off a letter to the actress, asking her to pay a compensation of Rs 65 million. This would include Rs 15 million to Sunrise Pictures Pvt. Ltd. and Rs 50 million for defaming it in public. Sunrise Pictures Pvt. Ltd. had signed Tanushree for Rs 1.5 million for the item number to be shot over four days. She had been paid an advance of Rs 500,000. According to Siddiqui, he as well as Sarang and Acharya had explained to Tanushree what her steps would be in the dance number. "She had agreed to it," Siddiqui said. "They [Sarang and Acharya] also agreed when she requested them not to compel her to wear a costume she would not be comfortable with. So we were surprised when she walked out of the sets on the last day of the shooting [March 26] after taking part in it for two days," Siddiqui said on Saturday. On Friday, Tanushree shot off a letter to the Cine and Television Artistes' Association (CINTAA) explaining the sequence of events that led to her stomping out of the sets and the scuffle that subsequently took place between media persons present on the sets and her secretary. In her letter, the actress also referred to the "unbecoming" manner in which Nana Patekar behaved with her during shooting of the item number on the first day and why she felt the need to ask her parents and her secretary to be present during the shoots later. CINTAA is yet to act on her letter, but it is likely to ask Patekar for his explanation. It is rarely that a member of a cine association complains against a fellow member. In this case, what makes it unique is that an upcoming star has lodged a serious complaint against a senior member at the risk of her budding career.
