Reliance to release Shyam Benegals next in 2009-end
Apr 21, 2009
MUMBAI: Big Pictures, the motion pictures brand from Reliance Big Entertainment, is planning to release its next production Well Done Abba sometime during November-December this year. Directed by Shyam Benegal, the mid-budget film casts Boman Irani in a double role while Minissha Lamba and Sammir Dattani are in pivotal roles. In Well Done Abba, Benegal narrates the story of Armaan Ali, a driver working in Mumbai. He takes leave for a month to find a husband for his teenage daughter, who lives in a small locality close to Hyderabad. Armaan Ali returns to work only after three months. His young employer wants to sack him but is persuaded to listen to the reason why Armaan got so delayed. The film is inspired from two short stories namely 'Narsaiyyan Ki Bavdi' by Jeelani Bano and 'Phulwa Ka Pul' by Sanjeev. A screenplay by Ashok Mishra and music by Shantanu Moitra, the lyrics has been penned by Ashok Mishra, Swanand Kirkire and Ila Arun. Well Done Abba also stars Ravi Kishen, Ila Arun, Salim Ghouse, Sonali Kulkarni, Rajit Kapur, Yashpal Sharma, Ravi Jhankal and Deepika Amin in supporting roles. http://www.indiantelevision.com

Minissha Lamba adopts veteran actor Boman Irani as her father
Mar 21, 2009
Minissha Lamba and Boman Irani are shering wonderful chemistry, in paternal terms at least! The petite beauty is working in the uopcoming movie ‘Abba Ka Kuan’ with the veteran actor Irani, who plays her father. While Boman plays her father, addressed by Minissha as ‘Abba’, she is so taken up by the actor’s persona that their onscreen warmth is spilling offscreen as well. Talking to an entertainment website, Minissha confesses, “Literally I adopted Boman as my father while we were off the sets. I would call him Abba all the time and he too would call me by the name of the character I play. The bond between the father and the daughter would be played out post pack up every evening, so much so that when something had to be done, I would take permission from Abba.” While the game is having wonderful effects on their performance, it is doing wonders to their personal equation, too. Minissha further adds, “It was one of the most unique relationships I've had with any co-star to date. The moment I wouldn't find Boman around, I'd be looking for him. That's how the rapport was.” If this kind of work-dedication is lives in real life, some very natural acting is guaranteed no doubt.

Minissha sheds tears
Mar 21, 2009
The Kidnap glam doll Minissha Lamba turned emotional during the reality show, Knights and the Angels, produced by Shahrukh Khan’s production house. Dressed in indigo, Minissha brought live to the show. She accumulated some good compliments from the audiences, judges and the contestants for her lively and positive attitude and off course for her vibrant look. She entertained herself a lot at the show by grooving with the contestants. But soon Minissha turned emotional as she had to be a part of the elimination round of the cheerleaders. The episode was bit deviant from the previous episodes as the tears in the eyes of the eliminated contestants also moved Minnisha into tears. Red Chillies Idiot Box creative head non-fiction Pranjal Khandhdiya says, “We have been getting good feedback for Knight and Angels. Minnisha enjoyed being part of the show and made the episode special with her vibrant presence as the celebrity judge” The contestants were judged based on their positive attitude, energy level, fun etc. The show is judged by Kolkatta Knight Riders captain Sourav Ganguly and Murli Kartik.
Minisshas floored by the Men in UniformMinisshas floored by the Men in Uniform
Apr 17, 2009
The very pretty Minissha Lamba was recently invited by the Navy to attend their awards ceremony which was held at the Navy Nagar in Colaba. We hear that the actress was fascinated by the men in uniforms! Sources say that Minissha really enjoyed herself, made a lot of friends and was in awe of the heroes of the sea. Apparently this was the first time ever she interacted with the naval force and was completely blown away! The actress has a lot of respect for the officers and was in high spirits throughout the night. When we asked the actress about her naval experience she said, “Suddenly what we do pales insignificance compared to how the heroes of our nation protect us. I salute their bravery; it’s an absolute honour to be here”. Well, that not all! On being extended an invitation, Minissha also promised to visit the navy ships over the weekend! Aftab Shivdasani and Jackie Shroff too were among the celebrities who were present there. Well, now that’s what we call a Navy Connection! -Sampurn Media http://www.thaindian.com

Minissha Lambas morning raga
Apr 17, 2009

Minissha is one lady who loves her beauty sleep. So why is it that nowadays the lady is rising early and looks forward to her day? A little birdie told us that the reason behind this early ‘rise n shine’ is none other than a mysterious neighbour who plays the flute every morning. The lilting notes of the flute are so melodious that Minissha loves waking up early just to spend a few moments standing by the window and listening to the sweet sounds wafting in. Minissha’s guessing that the neighbour must be a musician doing Riyaaz every morning… But Minissha sure seems caught under a melodious spell. Well, this sounds like a scene straight out of a film .But Minissha

Minissha Lamba turns on the heat for The Man
May 11, 2009

Don’t blame the weather, it’s Minissha Lamba turning on the heat on the cover of the May edition of ‘The Man’ magazine. Minissha does it again, man. The same actress who debuted as a cutie-cutie girl in Yahaan has taken many leaps and shed as many clothes to reveal her sexy side. The white bikini of Kidnap and the black one of the Maxim cover were perhaps just a few small steps in the long marathon that Miss Lamba wishes to jog, much to the delight of her fans, to add. So now, what has the gorgeous babe done? Nothing much, just parked her shapely bum on the bonnet of a sports car for the cover of ‘The Man’ magazine. Dressed skimpily in all black, Minissha strikes quite a provocative pose, with her leather boots, tight shorts, eye-catching top and a hair-do that, pardon to say, looks more like a wig. But must say she does look hot enough to send the male hormones into frenzy. Inside the mag, the ‘Kidnap’ girl talks about what gives her the adrenaline rush. Before your imagination runs wild, let’s break the suspense. Minissha is an adventure sports junkee and loves to do bungee jumping and kite surfing. The stunner also speaks about her career and upcoming films, but most significantly she lets her guard down and reveals some of her deep desires like how she would like to be wooed by a man. Now, that important piece of info would have many men rushing to the magazine stands. http://www.apunkachoice.com

What gives Minissha Lamba an adrenaline rush
May 9, 2009

After her sexy bikini act in Kidnap, Minissha Lamba is every man's ultimate fantasy. Hence, it comes as no surprise to see the Bollywood hottie feature on the cover page of popular men's magazine 'The Man'. Minissha, who features in 'The Man' magazine's May issue, talks about a number of interesting things right from how she would like to be wooed to her choice of films. The actress, who started out as the simple Kashmiri girl in Yahaan, also talks at length about how people within the industry and outside have started looking her differently post her glamorous avatar in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Kidnap. Most importantly, she also talks about things that give her an adrenaline rush (And just in case you are wondering...she is referring to adventure sports like bungee jumping and kite surfing). Minissha also gives a sneak peek of her character in her forthcoming film- Shyam Benegal's Well Done Abba. All these are good enough reasons for you to rush and pick up a copy of 'The Man' at the earliest. After all... you can then have Minissha by your side 24X7. http://www.santabanta.com

Minissha excited to work with Shyam Benegal
May 8, 2009

Minissha Lamba has just returned from a gruelling one month outdoor schedule of Well Done Abba. Though she is chilling out at the moment and catching up with friends and family, she looks back quite fondly on working with director Shyam Benegal. "Much before beginning to shoot for the film, I was sure about one thing that I couldn't let Shyam sir down", says Minissha with respect in her voice for the veteran film maker, "Here I was working with a man who has been directing for 35 years now so I had to be nothing but perfect with my performance." With such a senior person calling the shots, wasn't it intimidating to take directions from him? "Honestly, it wasn't intimidating because Shyam sir is a pro in working with actors. He knows how to take care of them and extract the best out of them. This is why I didn't even know how an entire month passed by and the shooting got over. More than him calling the shots, what was really unnerving was the kind of immense pressure that I had put myself into. For me, every day was a challenge as I had to give my very best", she shoots off. "With such an ensemble cast in the film, you have to be on your toes all the time. There were some scenes in particular which were quite challenging and I didn't really know where I was and what was I doing. But as I said, Shyam sir gets it going for his actors at the end of the day. I can only say that working in Well Done Abba was an educative trip for me and I only came back a little more well versed in cinema", signs off Minissha. With Boman Irani playing the title role of 'Abba' and Minissha Lamba as his daughter, the film also stars Sameer Dattani (as Minissha's love interest), Ravi Kishan, Ila Arun, Salim Ghouse, Sonali Kulkarni, Rajit Kapoor, Yashpal Sharma and Ravi Jhankal. A BIG Pictures production, the film has lyrics by Swanand Kirkire, Ila Arun and Ashok Mishra with music by Shantanu Moitra. http://entertainment.oneindia.in

Minissha Lamba Rubbishes Intimate Scenes
May 5, 2009

Barely had BollySpice reported that Minissha Lamba had walked out of the Karan Johar Production Jihaad because she refused to do some possible intimate scenes with co-star Vivek Oberoi, Lamba has come out and clarified her reasons for leaving the upcoming Rensil D’Silva directed feature. In fact, her grounds for opting out of the film were simply because she had passport issues, “The pages on my passport had been used up and I had sent it for renewal. It took so long, that there wasn’t much time for me to leave for New York to shoot,” she clarifies. Additionally, she also went to state that the film has no intimate scenes, “Jihaad has no intimate scenes to begin with. I would never back out of a film at the last moment.” She has been replaced by Dia Mirza who has happily stepped in to replace Lamba. Director Rensil D’Silva too was shocked at the rumors regarding Lamba’s replacement in the film, “I don’t know who has been circulating such rumors. There are no intimate scenes in my film. Mine is a serious film and such rumors are distracting.” The film is currently being shot in New York and is slated for an end of year release. The cast, after being changed for the nth time, has finally come down to Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and now Dia Mirza. http://www.bollyspice.com

Minissha Lamba
In her soon-to-be-released Kidnap, she would be donning a bikini which certainly comes as a surprise to those who have been following her career in films like Yahaan, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Shaurya and Bachna Ae Haseeno. "Well, it is shocking for quite a few people but if you ask me, I am really enjoying it all", says Minissha who has seen an eventful 2008 so far, "Seriously, I felt beautiful when I donned the bikini for Kidnap. And though people do ask me how comfortable I was with the thought of wearing a bikini, let me tell you that I was more focused on getting my body into the right shape than worrying about anything else." Talking about her decision to join the bikini bandwagon, Minissha admits, "Yes, I have joined the bikini bandwagon. After all, not many girls are doing it even today, isn't it? In any case when you see Kidnap, you would realize that the makeover isn't for the sake of it.
